The creation of my knives has become an all-consuming hobby.  It's a catharsis, a means of expression of my creative energies that had threatened to explode from within me after my retirement. 

The knives that you see on display here come from a natural medium progression as I grew into my work:

  Steel screws

  Steel rods

  Aluminum extrusions

  A steady progression from narrow to

      one-half inch brass rods

  Each of my knives is fashioned in imaginative free-hand and timeless traditional shape of knives and swords.

All of my knives have been created with small hand tools and common everyday means:

  Jeweler's files

  Metal sandpaper

  "00" and "0000" steel wool

  Appropriate blows from a 20 pound

framing hammer to create an appropriate bend

  Due to my design and creative methods, each of my knives are one-of-a-kind.

When I cut off a blank from my product source, it will sit beside my laptop for a long time - sometimes days, even weeks. 

The wait for inspiration can be long or short, but never rushed.  Until I suddenly see that knife hidden inside.

The knives on display here are my pride and joy.  They are also wonderful therapy and catharsis.
